Personal Experience
We've stayed at the Black Rock many times over the years, both with our kids and without. The most recent excursion was in January 2026, and it still doesn't disappoint. As it was just the two of us this time, we opted for a smaller studio room with an ocean view. It was well-appointed, especially the bathroom; however, I do prefer the suites for the great layout and roominess.
No matter what room we choose, we always splurge on an ocean view, because it's the West Coast, and that's why we are there! There's nothing better than the roar of the ocean lulling you to sleep.
I appreciate the hotel's cleanliness, especially the rooms. The moment you walk in, you can smell how clean they are. And you consistently see staff buffing here and there and wiping down this or that. It's what keeps me coming back time and time again.
Why you should go
The Black Rock Oceanfront Resort offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, and revitalizing amenities, making it an ideal choice for an unforgettable stay on Vancouver Island's West Coast.
